Roy Harrison, 97 of Powell, TN left this Earth to gain his Heavenly wings Thursday, January 31, 2019.
He celebrated his salvation for about 70 years and has spent his last 13 years as a member of Central Church of God. Roy never hesitated to share the love of Jesus with anyone who took the time to listen.
He retired from Pontiac Motors after 30 years of service. After retirement, Roy was known as "Roy the Lawn Mower Man."
His wife of 50 years, Qulin, parents, Charlie and Martha Harrison along with siblings, Ruth Penery, Rachel Brewer, Frank Harrison, Kenneth Harrison, and J.C. Harrison were all there to welcome him into his new Heavenly Home.
Roy leaves behind wife, Evelyn, of 13 years; children, Joe Harrison of Speedwell, TN, Lida Kay Ward of Knoxville, TN, R.C. (Joyce) Harrison of Pinconning, MI, Joyce Saylor of Waterford, MI; step-sons, Joe (Peggy) Garrett of Palacious, TX, Donald Garrett of Waterford, MI; 14 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 27 great-great grandchildren; siblings, Rubel Harrison, Betty Presswood, Shirley Rogers, Sidney Harrison all of Knoxville, TN; several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at North Knoxville Medical Center and also the TN Cancer Specialists for all the love and care they provided. Family will receive friends Sunday, February 3rd from 4-6 pm at Central Church of God on Papermill Road with funeral service following at 6pm. Rev. Jack Dean and Chaplin James Dunn officiating. Family and friends will meet at Berry Lynnhurst Chapel on Adair Dr. to process to Greenwood Cemetery Monday, February 4th at 12:30pm for burial.
