JANICE MARIE BAILEY
July 20, 1956 - January 20, 2019

Janice Marie Bailey, born in Leesville, Louisiana, July 20, 1956 was called home Sunday January 20, 2019 at Cooper Hospital in Camden, New Jersey.

Janice was an avid learner, the daughter of Mary A. Bailey, Lawton, Oklahoma and the late William A. Bailey. Janice had a strong belief in God at an early age.

As a child, her family moved to California due to her father’s position with Lockheed Missile and Space division Sunnyvale, CA. In the late ‘60’s the family moved to Orange County, CA, while in school, Janice exceled in everything she participated in.

When she began her collegiate career at California State University of Fullerton, she became the first black female Student Body President 1982. When she graduated from CSUF with a BA degree in Speech Communications, she hit the ground running when she joined the workforce. She went right into a sales position with Monsanto of St. Louis, MO, where she was the first black female to be offered to pitch Astro Turf to the Super Dome.

She made her way to the east coast where she continued in sales but now her focus was on her calling to spread the gospel of Christ. Every position she held she received Outstanding Achievements for Sales, pulling drowning offices out of a deficits and turning them around to be the best in company.

Janice found out, to follow her dream she needed more education. So, she left company positions and opened her own coffee business and became the sole coffee vendor to the nationally acclaimed New Jersey Performing Arts Center of Newark NJ.

With this complete career change she was able to continue her education in Theology. At this point in her career she began to add to her BA degree:

New Jersey Family Development degree – 2008 – Rutgers University, School of Social Work
Ordained Minister of the Clergy – 2010 -New Life Ministries, Camden, NJ
Biblical Theology Diploma – 2016 - Jameson School of Theology, Philadelphia, PA
Ordained Reverend of the Clergy – 2016 – New Life Ministries, Camden, NJ
Advanced Theology Diploma – 2017 - Jameson School of Theology, Philadelphia, PA
Bachelor of Theology – Jun 2017 - Jameson School of Theology, Philadelphia, PA

Reverend Janice had a long and storied career during her short time on this side of heaven. There are so many more accolades and education in her background…it boggles the mind.

During the end of her tenure on this earth, she ran the evangelism department at New Life Ministries of Camden, NJ. Her love was so great for God and his people, she fought the good fight on the ground, one person, one soul at a time. As Jan put it…Boots On The Ground For Christ!

Janice is survived by her mother Mary A. Bailey, Lawton Oklahoma,

Sisters Linda Bailey Rose (husband James Rose) Colorado, Debbie Bailey-Smith (Walter Smith) Oklahoma, Demetria Bailey, New Jersey and Iva Bailey-Cannon (Bill Cannon), New York.

Brothers, Alvin Bailey, New Jersey and Bervey Bailey, Texas and numerous Nieces’, Nephews, Aunts and Uncles. Preceded in death, William A Bailey, California.

*To the woman who always inspired us to Think Big and to chase our dreams no matter how far fetched or impossible it seems....

To the woman who always showed and shared Gods love through her words and actions....

To the woman who showed what tenacity is all about....

To the woman who made us always feel like the most special people in the world...

....I want to say rest well. I am grateful to God you have no more pain and you were able to transition...
