Franklin R. Wood passed away at age seventy-five on January 23, 2019 surrounded by his family.

He was born April 26, 1943 in Murray to James Harvey and Alice Parker Wood. He was raised in Bennion as the youngest of four children. He attended Granger High School and immediately joined the workforce as a heavy equipment operator for over thirty-plus years, and later worked at the Salt Lake International Airport for twelve years until retiring.

His true passion was raising and training horses from easy riding to racing them.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James Harvey and Alice Parker Wood; brother, Glen Wood; sisters and brothers-in-law, Dee and Jack Wilson and Lois and Jerry Webster; granddaughter, MaKayla; and step-daughter, Tamorah Kinnick. He is survived by his wife, Sheila; children, Wendy (Ron) Jensen, Daniel (Stephanie) Wood, and Raquelle (Jim) Tincher; step-children, Tom Kinnick, David (Jessa) Kinnick, Raymond Kinnick, and Debbie (Sterling) Davis; fourteen grandchildren, Danielle, Sadi (TJ), Nevaeh, Drew, Madi, Savana (Jeremy), Cloe, Precious, Roland, Alastair, Skyler, Sonny, Autumn, and SJ; and two great-grandchildren, Valkyrie and Korbin

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 28, 2019 at Memorial Estates, 6500 South Redwood Road (1700 West), Taylorsville, with a viewing one hour prior. There will also be a viewing held at the same location on Sunday, January 27, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

A viewing will be held Sunday, January 27, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Redwood Memorial Estates Mortuary and Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road (1700 West), Taylorsville. Another viewing will take place at the same location on Monday, January 28, 2019 at 10:00 a.m., with a funeral service at 11:00 a.m.
Interment will follow in the Redwood Memorial Estates Cemetery.
