Melissa Ann Ruffner "Missie" Jenkins, 51, passed away January 29, 2019 at the Winchester Medical Center.
Missie was born June 22, 1967 in Front Royal, Virginia.
There isn't just one word or sentence to describe her other than she was kind, strong, loving, and caring. She was an angel in disguise for many who didn't know at the time she would imprint on them for the rest of their lives. She wore her heart on her sleeve most of the time but was always the shoulder everyone needed to lean on.
She met her soul mate at the tender age of 16 and went on to marry him, and spent the last 35 years being happily married to the love of her life. During this time she had two beautiful children who were the apple of her eye and her world. Missie was also a "Maw Maw" to three beautiful grandchildren who she thought the world revolved around and they could do no wrong.
Her love was endless and she never met a stranger and once you met her you knew right away that her love was wild and free.
Missie is survived by her husband, John Jenkins; their children, Lil John and Kayla; her mother, Kaye Ruffner; her three brothers, Chuck, Brian, and Jody Ruffner; a sister, Nancy Cash-Willie; and a daughter-in-law, Becky Jenkins.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charlie Ruffner.
A memorial service will be held at Maddox Funeral Home Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. conducted by Samuel Campbell. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Arrangements are being handled by Maddox Funeral Home, 105 West Main Street, Front Royal, VA .
