ENGLAND--Ruth Ann Bland was born in the vicinity of Brownstown, and died in her home at Brownstown, Tuesday morning of pneumonia at the age of 82 years, 10 month, 10 days. She was twice married. On Oct. 9, 1847, she was married to James H. Weathers and to their union their were two sons and a daughter--John, Charley and Mrs. Margaret Robbins. Mr. Weathers preceded her to the grave in Oct. 1852, John died at the age of 12 and Charley died in 1908.

On Dec. 6, 1856, she married to Joseph England who died Sept. 15, 1880. To this union was born four daughters and one son, viz: Mrs. Polly Perry, Mrs. Emma Johnston, Mrs. Lillie Nichols, Mrs. Frankie Keller of this place (Brownstown) and Henry England, of Litchfield, ILL. Besides her children she leaves one step-daughter, Mrs. Nancy Robbins who was as dear to her as her own children. She leaves twenty-eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren, three sisters and two brothers--Mrs. Polly Tucker, Mrs. Harriet Burrell, Mrs. Nancy Reinbold, Meredith Bland, of this place and John Bland of Indian Territory.

The funeral was held at her late home Thursday Afternoon with Rev. Edw. F. Schneider, pastor of the Methodist Church which the remains will be laid to rest in the Fairview Cemetery.
