Nellie LaVerne Martin, 81, entered into rest on Wednesday, January 30th.2019. She was born on March 17, 1937 in Louisville, Kentucky.
She was a homemaker and a lunchroom worker at Conway Middle School. LaVerne was a nurturer, attending to strays, both human and not.
Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Martin; a son, David Martin; and a daughter-in-law, Louise.
She is survived by her daughter, Teri Eicher (Danny White); four grandchildren, Dieter Eicher, Sami Corbin, Crystal Williams and Ashley Martin; eight great-grandchildren, Alex, Eric, Tyler, Nakiah, Jessica, Ethan, Sam and Hayden; daughter-in-law, Anna; and her BFF, Pat Hughes.
Her funeral will be on Monday at 11am at the Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Highway, with interment following in Highland Memory Gardens in Mt. Washington. Her visitation will be Sunday from 2pm until 8pm.
