AVOCA — Cecilia K. Lewis, age 72 of Avoca, Wisconsin, died on Wednesday, March 6, 1991 in Saint Mary's Hospital in Madison following a brief illness.
The former Cecilia Foyt was born on December 4, 1918 in Castle Rock Township in Grant County, Wisconsin to Wencil and Della (Prochaska) Foyt. She married Francis Lewis of Fennimore on June 6, 1939. The couple had been Avoca residents since 1969.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Scott Lewis; a sister, Agnes Kallsh; and four brothers, William, Joseph, Alfred, and Vandy Foyt.
She is survived by her husband Francis of Avoca; two sons, David (Jane) of Arena, and Arnold of Avoca; three daughters, Charlotte (Dan) Wienkes of Oswego, Illinois,
Katherine (Dennis) Zander of Mount Horeb, and Rosalyn (Roger) Knight of Avoca; three brothers, John Foyt of Highland, Tony Foyt of Darlington, and Fred Foyt of Avoca; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Saturday March 9 in SAINT JOHN NEPOMUC CATHOLIC CHURCH in Castle Rock Ridge. Father Laverne Meier will officiate, with burial in Saint John's Cemetery. A visitation will be held in the MCGUIRE -PETERSON FUNERAL HOME in Highland on Friday March 8, from 5:00 until 9:00 P.M. and at the church on Saturday from 1:00 P.M. until the time of service.
