Funeral services celebrating the life of Max Roy Foster will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 18, 2019 in the chapel of Hixson Brothers, Pineville with Brother Mark Breland officiating. Burial will be in Big Creek Cemetery, Pollock.

The family requests that visitation be observed at Hixson Brothers, Pineville Thursday, January 17, 2019 from 5:00-9:00 p.m. and continued Friday from 8:30 a.m. until time of service.

Pallbearers will be Ralph Bennett, Vince Petre’, Shane McDaniel, Rudy Stuchlik, Benjamin White and Alton Martin.
Honorary pallbearer will be John Griffith.

Mr. Foster, 89, of Pineville, passed from this life on Sunday, January 13, 2019 at Rapides Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Foster joined the Marine Corps when he was 17 ½ years old and served 2 years. He helped construct the roads and fencing on Naval Bombing Range on Vieques Island, Puerto Rico. He attended Louisiana Tech University after he was discharged until he was called back in the Korean Conflict for 13 months. He spent the last half of his time at the Marine Corp Recruit Depot, San Diego, California, training recruits. He attained the rank of Sergeant and graduated with 3 Honor Platoons.

Mr. Foster was employed by Texas Gas Transmission Corp of Pineville for 37 years and 3 months. He was in Pipeline Maintenance for 19 years and the last 18 years as an Electrical Specialist. He was an avid fisherman and hunter in his early life and during his last years he was a crappie fisherman.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Martha Rebecca “Becky’ Flournoy Foster; parents, Edward D. and Bertha Mae Foster; brothers, Dudley L. Foster and Harold Edward Foster and son-in-law, Leonard Tassin.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughters, Catherine Lynne Foster Legult and husband, Alex and Asa Ann Foster Tassin; grandchildren, Trulee Nowlin and Lacee White; great grandchildren, Paul Nowlin, Rebecca Nowlin and Cody White; sisters-in-law, Betty Foster and Beth Foster, and a host of other family and friends.
