Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M., Saturday, January 26, 2019, at the Rush Family Chapel in Onawa, Iowa. Music selections are "Jealous of the Angels," "One More Day," "Turn the Page," and "In the Arms of An Angel." Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Saturday, January 26, 2019, at the Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service, Onawa, Iowa.
Joe was born on February 6, 1959, in Omaha, Nebraska, the son of William Meyers and Bonnie Shelby.
Joe married Peggy Anne Klein on August 11, 1979, in Little Sioux, Iowa.
He was an over the road truck driver for the last 29 years.
Joe enjoyed being outdoors hunting, fishing, and hunting mushrooms. He loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Meyers of Little Sioux, IA; two sons, Joseph Meyers of Killeen, TX and David Meyers of Kimballton, IA; six grandchildren; father, Dan Shelby of Omaha, NE; two brothers, Billy Meyers of Little Sioux, IA and Danny Shelby of Omaha, NE; one sister, Louann Brancato of Philadelphia, PA; and many nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Meyers, Beverly Meyers, and Bonnie Shelby.
