Mrs. Nancy Ann Jarrett, aged 88 years, died Friday, Oct. 16 at 2:30 p.m. at the home of her nephew, Herman Stump in Pleasant Valley.
Mrs. Jarrett was born in Iowa, Feb.1, 1854. She crossed the plains with her parents when she was nine years old. They first went to Oregon, but later to Vancouver, Wash. Where they settled for a time, later coming to Pleasant Valley where she met and married James K. Jarrett of Goldendale. They were married in 1888.
Mr. Jarrett passed away in Hood River, Oregon in 1920. They lived in Yakima and Sunnyside, Wash. prior to making their home in Hood River.
Mrs. Jarrett is survived by her brother Leonard Stump of Naches, Wash., and nieces and nephews including Herman Stump at whose home she died.
Funeral services were held from the Phillips Funeral Home in Goldendale Sunday, Oct. 18, at 2 p.m., Rev. P. Glenn Garner of local Baptist church officiating. Interment was in of the Pleasant Valley cemetery.
Pall bearers were: Frank Hamllik, Charles Stump of Yakima, Andrew Swan, Bill Anderson, Harold Dingmon, and Ervin Young of Yakima.
