Arlene Young, age 72, of Somerset, KY, passed away on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
Arlene was born on November 18, 1946 in Somerset, KY to Goldie Waddle Hughes and the late Newman Hughes. She retired as the Pulaski County Treasurer in 2012 after twenty-three years of service.
She is survived by her mother, Goldie Hughes of Somerset; one son, David Ray (and Melony) Phelps of Somerset; one grandson, Dustin Wade Phelps of Somerset; one nephew, Matthew Hughes of Elizabethtown; and one great-nephew, Ethan Matthew Hughes of Elizabethtown.
Along with her father she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles David Young, whom she married in 2005, and he preceded her on November 28, 2013; and one brother, Edman Hughes.
Visitation will be on Friday, February 1, 2019 from 11:00am until 1:00pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.
Her funeral service will follow on Friday at 1:00pm at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home. Burial will be at Mill Springs National Cemetery.
