Janet E. May, 65, Olathe, KS passed away unexpectedly at her home on Sunday January 27, 2019.
Janet’s younger years were spent in Wichita, Kansas. She graduated high school at St. Croix Falls High School in Wisconsin. She and her family moved to Wisconsin late in her senior year. Prior to the move she attended Eminence High in Missouri. Eminence is the school she thought of as her high school. She also attended State Fair Community College in Sedalia, Missouri.
Janet’s occupation has always been bookkeeping. She has done books for several different businesses throughout her working years.
Her interests were NASCAR, Rusty Wallace was her favorite driver. She enjoyed to read and listen to audio books. Back in the day, she was an excellent photographer. She crocheted countless beautiful afghans. She was a superb cook and an even better baker. She enjoyed hosting dinners at her home, the more the merrier. She loved to play in the dirt, whether it was planting flowers or growing a vegetable garden. Her music of choice was country music, the Statler Brothers were her favorite group. She saw them in concert every chance she got, and traveled to many states to see them perform. She liked to play cards, board or computer games. Yahtzee was her favorite.
Janet’s smile and laughter would light up a room. She always seemed to be available when you needed her. She was there to listen, give advice, offer help, let you use her shoulder to cry on or give you the shirt off her back. She was one in a million and will be missed by everyone who knew her.
Janet was preceded in death by her Mom, Beverly and her Dad, Kenneth. She is survived by her brother, Phillip White, Grain Valley, Missouri, her niece Nicolette White, Blue Springs, Missouri, several cousins and hundreds of friends.
Janet leaves behind her precious baby dogs, Baxter, Madelyn, Cinnamon & Mr. White. They were her life, heart, soul, her everything. They were there for her during the good times and the not so good times. They were there when she took her final breath, the way she would have wanted it.
In lieu of flowers Janet wanted contributions made to Angels Left Behind Animal Rescue in Belton, Missouri at angelsleftbehind.org then click the donate link or the Olathe Public Library.
