Karen Williams Sherman, 53, of Ringgold, Ga., died on Monday, September 15, 2008 at a local hospital.
She was born April 8, 1955 and was a longtime resident of the East Ridge area.
She worked at Battlefield Imaging as a Radiologic Technologist. At her passing, she was surrounded by those she loved the most: her husband, children, sister and two brothers. Karen had a true love for her family and friends.
She was a passionate sports fan, playing multiple sports in her youth and later enjoyed watching her family as they competed.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Virginia and Bill Williams, grandparents; Lillie Belle and Harold Brock and Ida Bell and W.F. Williams.
Survivors include her husband, Garland (Gary) Sherman; two children, Ashley and Ryan; twin sister, Sharon Williams Speiser (Terry Speiser); brothers, Chris Williams (Margo Williams) and Scott Williams (Dee Williams); nieces, Whitney Williams Fessler (Mike Fessler), Holly Speiser Collett (David Colle tt), Lindsay Williams McGill (Seth McGill), Katie Speiser, Angel Mullins (John Mullins) and Ciara Ditmore; nephews, Josh (Holly) and Zachary Williams; one uncle; two cousins; three great-nephews and the beloved family pet, Buffy.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday at Jones Memorial United Methodist Church in East Ridge with Dr David Tabor officiating.
The family will receive friends at visitation on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. at the East Chapel of the Chattanooga Funeral Home.
Interment will be at the Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
