Mr. John Hendricks, 77, of Lebanon, passed away Jan. 18, 2019, at University Hospital in Indianapolis. John was born December 27, 1941, in Indianapolis. He was a son of the late Robert and Gladys (Scott) Hendricks. He married Diana Breedlove on December 1, 1963. She survives.

John graduated from Lizton High School in 1959. He owned and operated Hendricks Excavating in Lebanon for over 50 years and J & D Storage in Lebanon for over 25 years. John was a member of the Murat Shrine and was a past president of the Boone County Shrine Club. He also was a member of the York Rite and a 50-year member of Boone Lodge #9 F & AM. John was also a longtime member of the Lebanon Conservation Club, where he enjoyed shooting skeet and trap. His hobbies included collecting antiques, heavy equipment, and firearms. He enjoyed going to Amish auctions, heavy equipment auctions, and flea markets. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to tell stories about his involvement in the history of Boone County.

Survivors include his wife, Diana Hendricks of Lebanon; daughters, Debbie (John) Boggess of Lebanon and Lori (Bill) Allen of Lebanon; brother, Charles (Sue) Hendricks of Lebanon; and grandchildren, Tyler Boggess, Michael Boggess, Annika Allen, and Jacob Allen.

Family and friends will gather Sat., Jan. 26, 2019, for visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of Masonic Rites at 2 p.m. in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon. John will be laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon.
