Frank “Sarge” Long, 93, entered eternal life on Monday, January 28, 2019 at Clark Memorial Hospital. He served his country honorably in the United States Navy during WWII and retired from Louisville Police Department after 39 ½ years of service. Sarge was a former Kentucky State Hand Ball Champion, 32nd Degree Shriner, Kentucky Colonel, member of the Sellersburg Moose Lodge and Silver Streaker’s Club at the YMCA. He is preceded in death by two brothers, Walter and William Long and an infant son, Frank Long, Jr. Surviving are his wife, Virginia Long, Sellersburg, sons, Walter (Jean) Long, Lebanon, Tennessee, Bobby (Deborah) Long, Louisville, step-sons, William (Tammy) Bailey, Sellersburg, Jeff (Carla) Bailey, Jeffersonville, step-daughters, Sherri Balmer, Charlestown, Karen McRae, New Albany, brother, Sam (Helen) Long, Louisville, eleven grandchildren and eight, great-grandchildren
