Lee Royce Mitchell was born on March 11, 1930 in Coweta, OK to Royce Mitchell and Lee Ola (Hamm) Mitchell. He passed from this life on Jan. 25, 2019 in Tulsa, OK at the age of 88 years, 10 months & 14 days.
Lee had traveled the United States and Canada for several years while working the pipelines as a diesel mechanic. He and Dorothy finally settled into Bixby where they have lived since 1955. Most of Lee's life was centered around his work and love of being a mechanic, welder, fabricator and inventor. He was a longtime member of the International Operating Engineers #627. He also loved airplanes, motorcycles and operating heavy equipment. His family will never forget his work ethic and his uncanny ability to fix anything and everything. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of over 68 years, Dorothy (McLearan) Mitchell, whom he married on May 3, 1950 in Ft. Smith, AR as well as by 2 sons; Keith Mitchell & Randy Mitchell both of Bixby, 2 sisters; Ola Jean Cooper of Paris, AR & Tippy Orr of Russellville, AR, 6 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren along with several other relatives and longtime friends.
Casket bearers are Coty Mitchell, Shel Mitchell, Micha Mitchell, David Maxey, Jerry Cooper & Nathan Shanks.
