A resident of Wayne County for most of her life, Patricia was born on October 7, 1950 in Metter, Georgia to the late Carlton Ebbie Brown and Laura Yuba Bowen Brown. She spent her early years in Metter and was a graduate of Metter High School before attending Georgia Southern College. She was a devoted homemaker but had also worked in sales and been manager of several retail stores during her career. She volunteered her time with the Red Cross and with the Wayne Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and attended Baptist Tabernacle in Jesup for many years. In her spare time, Patricia enjoyed ceramics, crocheting, cooking, playing piano and spending time with her beloved family.
Survivors include her son, Jay Earl Callaway and wife, Kristi of Alachua, FL; daughter, Lari Callaway Naquin and husband, Wayne of Jesup; their father, Thomas E. Callaway of Jesup; sister, Ann Rewis of St. Simons Island; brother, Bowen Brown of Metter; grandchildren, Krista Naquin of Jesup, Katelyn Naquin of Blackshear, Jacob Callaway of Alachua, FL, Callie Callaway of Alachua and great grandchildren, Lily McCall and Alexander Grant. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members also survive.
A memorial visitation will be held from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Howard & Jones Funeral Home in Jesup.
