Friday, January 25, 2019 lifelong resident, John Emil Hogue of Bonita Springs left this world on his next journey. He was born into the commercial fishing family of Captain John Hogue and Marie Williams Hogue. After completing his education attending Bonita Springs School and graduating from Ft. Myers High School he began his lifelong dream. He became a commercial fisherman working on his father's boat, the Bonita.

He was called into service of his country in 1952 during the Korean Conflict serving in the U.S. Army. On returning home he found the fishing industry so depleted he choose to become an electrician. He spent the next 36 years pursuing his craft. He oversaw the wiring of several schools and shopping centers in Naples. He spent the final 20 years of his career traveling the country working on nuclear powerhouses and refineries.

He leaves behind two sisters, Wanda "Punk" Hill and Shirley Etheridge; three children, Joe (Marisa) Hogue, Kelly (Diana) Hogue and Jill (Terry) Patterson; five grandchildren, Cory (Meagan), Adam (Carrie), Amber (David), Danielle and Page and two great-grandsons, Cole and Wyatt.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 1:30 PM at Shikany's Bonita Funeral Home 28300 Tamiami Tr. So., Bonita Springs, FL with Pastor Tim Deaton, officiating. Military honors will be provided by the U.S. Army following the service.

He will be buried next to his parents at Bonita Springs Cemetery in a private ceremony per his request.

The family would like to thank the Staff of American House Memory Care Unit for their care and kindness during his last 39 months and the staff at Joanne's House during his final days.
