Neal was a true southerner and a farmer with Henard Farms. He enjoyed catfishing and would double-dip by setting up trot-lines before heading to shore to fish from the bank as well. When he went hunting it didn’t matter what game he found, he would bring home rabbit, squirrel, or deer with ease. Neal served proudly in the National Guard, and during the eighties he was a fireman in Louisiana. Hard work did not elude him even during his battle with cancer, because he was known to mow and weed-eat right after completing a chemotherapy session. He was a big fan of the rock group Lynyrd Skynyrd along with recording artist Robert James Ritchie, better known as Kid Rock.
Neal was proceeded in death by his parents and his sisters Victoria Zeringue and Crystal Hendrix. Remaining to cherish his memory are his wife Shelia Hendrix and daughters Ashley (Ben) Haynes, Katie (Joe) Haynes, Leslie (Brandon) May, and Whitney (Terry) Hendrix. Neal also leaves behind a nephew he raised as his own son, Steven (Carlisha) Hendrix, seven grandchildren, and sisters Louise (Pete) Oswalt and Sandra Hendrix.
Visitation at Fowler Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, January 30th at 1:00 pm, with services beginning at 3:00 pm. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Moro.
