Laura Spiess Peterson, age 80, passed away peacefully Friday, Jan. 25, 2019 in Gonzales.
She was a native of New Orleans and had most recently resided in Gray. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. Laura was a former special education teacher's aide. She loved God and was a very generous gift giver and had lots of pen pals.
A visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29 at Falgout Funeral Home of Houma. Immediately following the visitation the funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Grace Christian Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Survivors include daughters, Kathleen P. Cannizzaro (Gregory) and Karen P. Roussel (Drew); four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Laura was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Raymond Edward Peterson; parents, William Percy and Estelle Rose Cochran Spiess; and sisters, Linda Pipitone and Luana Blasio.
