Christine K. Burns, 98, of Waxahachie, passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2019, in Irving. Burial will be at Waxahachie City Cemetery.

Christine was born on January 7, 1921, in Waxahachie, Texas, to the late Daniel Calvin and Minnie Alma (Morgan) Kelley. Christine retired from Employers Casualty Insurance in Dallas where she was a Key Punch Supervisor and then worked for Western Data for a short time. She believed in hard work. Christine was a member of Ferris Avenue Baptist Church. She loved playing 42, watching game shows and was a fantastic cook. Christine loved her family and enjoyed babysitting the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Henry Lee Burns; son, Hollis Lee Burns; son-in-law, Jessie Navarro; grandson-in-law, Tim Benson; brothers: Pete Kelley, Ray Kelley, and Donald Kelly; and sisters: Margie Wilson, Ruth Morris, Sue Hill, Nell Mathison, Jean Parker, and Donald Kelley.

Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn Navarro; grandchildren, Brenda Kannenberg and her husband, David, Karen Jenkins and her husband, Kenneth, Patricia Benson, Michael Navarro and his wife, Misha, and John Burns; 13 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren. T5
