Aaron "Bill" William Bolton
April 27, 1924 - March 11, 2015

Newton - Aaron William "Bill" Bolton, 90, went to his prepared place by the Lord Jesus Christ on March 11, 2015. Bill was born April 27, 1924 in the family farmhouse 2 miles north of Wauneta, Kansas. He was the youngest and last survivor of 8 sons and 1 daughter of Frank and Lydia Bolton; John, Clarence, Jack, Bob, Ivan, Perle, Mable and Joe. Bill married Alice Aliene Wesbrook on November 27, 1948.

Bill is survived by his wife Aliene of Newton, Kansas and two sons. He enjoyed and delighted in his 9 Grandchildren and 19 Great Grandchildren.

Bill bravely and proudly served in the U.S. Marines in WWII from 1942 to 1945. He was wounded at Tarawa and was personally presented a Purple Heart in December of 1943 at the U.S. Naval Hospital, Hawaii, by Admiral Nimitz.

Bills careers included truck driving for Gilliland Oil Company, ranching and farming for himself, and finally a rural letter carrier with the U.S. Postal Service in Leon, Kansas, from which he retired on December 12, 1984. He along with Aliene enjoyed many years building new homes. In retirement, they wintered in Arizona, making new friends and enjoying dear family members who joined them.

He trusted in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord at revival services in the Leon Baptist Church in February 1954. His faith in Christ became the pivotal point in his search for healing from the war, and for meaning and forgiveness. He would not miss church any more than he would miss a meal. His faithfulness to Christ was not an effort to earn his salvation, but it was, rather, his enjoyment of salvation and nurturing his life in Christ! He enjoyed many years studying the Bible with Dr. J. Vernon McGee's radio messages and books, and then teaching and edifying Sunday School classes.

Bill was preceded in death by his son, Robert; parents; and his brothers and sister.

We will never, ever forget you Dad, Granddad. Our memories of you, your faith, and your love for Grandma, will follow us and bless us all the days of our lives.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 13, 2015 at Dunsford Funeral Home, of Augusta. Memorial contributions in honor of Bill can be made to the Through The Bible Radio left in care of the Funeral Home.
