Christopher Neal Powers, 40, passed away Friday, January 25, 2019 from injuries received in a farm tractor accident.
He was a 1997 graduate of John I. Burton High School in Norton, he was an avid farmer, hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman. He loved his animals and taking care of his horses. He was active in coaching little league football and baseball.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Jerry York Powers Sr.
Surviving are his parents, Gary and Debbie Saylor of Jonesville, VA and Jerry Powers of Kingsport, TN; his fiancé, Jennifer Mullins and son, Grayson and daughter, Lexie of the home; brother, Todd Alan Powers and wife Crystal of Kingsport, TN; step-brother, Jason Daniel Saylor and wife Natalia of Baltimore, MD; step-sister, Christina Lucas of Woodbridge, VA; grandparents, Earnest Duncan and wife Judy of Wise and Freda Powers of Wise; several aunts, uncles, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Christopher Neal Powers will be held at 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise, VA with Earnest Duncan and Rick Hamilton officiating.
Family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. till time of services at 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at the Sturgill Funeral Home in Wise, VA.
