A homegoing celebration for Mrs. Marlene Sharp of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Sunday, January 13, 2019 will be held on Saturday January 26th, 2:00 p.m. at New Dawn Restoration Center, 5308 E. Columbus Drive, Rev. Dr. Julia McMillan, Sr., pastor officiating. The interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Marlene was born to the late Ferman Edward Carwise and Lizzie May Bostick on April 25, 1944 in Tampa, Florida. She was raised in Tampa’s Sulphur Springs area of town and attended Middleton High School before marrying the love of her life, Willie B. Sharp, Sr. for 51 years. She was a loving and devoted stay at home wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother that loved caring for others throughout the family. Her hobbies included listening to gospel music, being the family comedian, while telling you like it is and doing ceramics. She leaves to cherish her memories with her loving husband, Willie B. Sharp, Sr.; children, caring and devoted daughter, Karlene Sharp; sons, Willie B. Sharp, Jr., Anthony Sharp (Elizabeth), Andrew Sharp, and Julie Crosby; grandchildren, Karlyarna (Eric), Arnaisa, A’shanti and William Morris, Jr., Leont’e Destin, Reginald Lewis, Jr., Laquanna Roberts (Keith), Reginald, Natoshia and Kiyanna Duffy, Willie, Jonisha, Alexxus, Leila, Maritza and Andrew Sharp, Jr., Antonio Atkins, Talisha Scott, Rochelle Crosby, Shantel Davis, Ashley Tookes (Dorian), Shamara Huff, Trentavious Crosby, Malik William, Shawn Riley, Tyronda, Willie Bell Sharp, Keisha Bostick Sharp and Mayble Bradshaw; sisters-in-law; Leila Mae Lee, Annie Sharp Moore (Ernest) all of Albany, GA, Patsy Weaver of Thomasville, GA, and Barbra Morgan, Brighton, NJ; nieces, Almatine Lee, Ann Quimby (Stanley), Rose Mary Carter, Jeanine Dixon, June Tennel (Robert), Debra, Robyn and Nakima Sharp, Yolanda Morgan, Valerie Panda (Tony), Linda Simmons, Sandra and Amanda Kendrick, and Emma Jean Williams, Valdosta, GA; nephews, David Lee, Jr., Hershal Hicks, Bobby Charles Lee (Barbara), Robert House, Jr., Leon Simmons, Bobby Simmons (Emma), Dewayne Sharp, Timothy Lee, Larry (Willie Mae), James Johnson, Jr. (Betty), Antwon Sharp (Dianna), Raymond Sharp, Nicholas Moore (Beth), Robert Moore (Shantel); special niece, Dr. Katrina Esau (Joseph); special nephews, Mykel McCrea and Johnny Lee (Carrie); god-granddaughter, Skylar Zuri Johnson; cousins, Isaac and Stanley Yeoman; and special friend and neighbor, Barbara McGill. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, January 25th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
