Raymond Joseph Turner passed away peacefully on January 16, 2019. Ray was born in Denver on July 16, 1929. He graduated from South High School in 1948 and enrolled in the University of Denver. His education was interrupted when he enlisted in the US Air Force in 1951. After leaving active duty, Ray joined the Colorado Air National Guard and served until 1962, retiring as a Captain in the intelligence service. He returned to DU after active duty and graduated with a B.A. in Political Science in 1953 and from the University of Denver College of Law in 1956. Ray worked for the law firm of Sherman and Howard as a litigator from 1956 - 1994, and retired as the managing partner in 1994. He was a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. Ray was a proud, life-long Democrat. Ray was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years Margaret LaVerne (nee Cart) and his son Robert (Kerry).

Ray will be interred at Fort Logan National Cemetery in a private family service.
