died on Monday, November 26, 2018 in his home in Holdenville,
Oklahoma. Born December 25, 1943 to Neva and Winford Lee in
Horntown, Oklahoma where he was raised.
Gale graduated from Moss
High School in 1961. He received his bachelor's degree from ECU in
Ada in 1968 and went on to join the Air Force and attend the Air Force
Academy as a medic. Inspired by working in the medical field, he
returned to ECU to achieve his RN degree, and was then accepted into
the nurse anesthetist program in Wichita, Kansas in 1975. He worked
as a nurse anesthetist in Pryor and Tulsa for twenty-five years, and
resided on Lake Hudson in Pryor until October of 2018, when he
moved home to be near his sister, Carol Pryor.
He is survived by his daughter, Shelly Grosso and her husband Frank; son, Shawn Lee andhis wife Suzanne; grandchildren, Isaac, Sam, Luca, Livia, and Matteo;
sister, Carol Pryor; and many other beloved family members.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Jerry and W.G. Lee.
He loved old cars, taking care of his cattle and horses, lake views,
visits from his children and grandchildren, reminiscing about childhood
days in the country with his friends and cousins, and attending Church
on the Move in Pryor where he served as a greeter. We honor the rich
legacy that he left in the medical community and in his family that he
dearly cherished. May his ability to accept people just as they are
remain with us always and continue to inspire us.
A celebration of Gale's life will be held at the Texas Banner Church of
God (3075 US-75 Wetumka, Oklahoma 74883) on Tuesday, December
4 at 1:00 pm.
