Kathryn “Kathy” M. Mroz, age 75, of Northfield, passed away on May 1, 2013, at her home after a brief battle with cancer.

Kathryn “Kathy” Joan Mroz was born Aug. 10, 1937 in Hastings, Neb., to parents Jack and Mary Mills. She graduated from Whitewater High School, Whitewater, Wis., and she attended the University of Iowa for two years. She married John C. Marshall in 1957 and moved to Northfield in 1964 when John accepted a position at St. Olaf College. The couple were married for 25 years and had two children, Cindy and John. They divorced in 1982. Kathy worked and volunteered at St. John’s Lutheran Church in various positions and continued to live in Northfield where she worked in real estate and at the United Methodist Church. She married Basil F. Mroz on April 5, 1985 and subsequently Kathy and Basil moved to Greenbay, Wis., and Oconomowoc, Wis. Five years ago Kathy and Basil returned to Northfield to enjoy their retirement.

Kathy was a member of P.E.O., The Northfield Garden Club, Northfield Nordic Arts Society, and was a charter member and past president of National Milk Glass Collectors Society. She was also very involved in W.I.N.G.S and was a lifetime member of Eastern Star. She felt blessed by her involvement at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Northfield, where she loved her work on the Chancel Guild and she had been a member of the same Circle Group since 1964. She also treasured her bridge clubs, her dear friends and her charity work with Northfield Hospital Auxiliary book fair.

Kathy is survived by her husband, Basil F.
