MELTON, Everett Glenn Sr., 83, of Rockville, passed away Friday, January 25, 2019. Born to Stonewall Jackson and Ruth Nicholas Melton, he graduated from Rockville High School and attended the University of Richmond and University of South Carolina School of Banking. Following 35 years of service with Federal Reserve Bank, he served as Deputy Treasurer of Hanover County. In later years he enjoyed success as an internet Stock Market Trader. He was preceded in death by a sister, Ruby M. Schonberg; brother, Thomas Mason Melton; and son, Jerry Duane Melton. He is survived by his wife and high school sweetheart, Hazel White Melton; sons, Everett Jr., Steven (Shelley) and Patrick (Terri); seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; sisters, Vera M. Wilson and Violet M. Lane, both of Henrico, Va.; and brother, Stuart James Melton Sr. of Rockville. He was loved and adored by his family and his faithful beagle, Misty, that slept at his bedside. The family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, January 28, at the West Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 11020 West Broad Street, Glen Allen, where his memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday.
