Goldie Mildred Hedquist, 89, of Las Vegas, New Mexico, died December 20, 2003 after a short illness.

She was an avid crocheter, knitter, baker, member of the San Miguel County Women Extension Club, Den Mother for Cub Scouts and a homeroom mother for all of her children during their school years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and a member of the Eastern Star Hansford Chapter 2.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Artie Ferrell; husband, Elmer Clayton Hedquist; 10 brothers; one sister, and an infant, Larry Dean Hedquist.

She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Evelyn Krautheim and husband Bob of Dearborn, Michigan; sons, Bruce C. Hedquist and wife Gerri of Albuquerque; Edward Hedquist and wife Christine of Santa Fe; David W. Hedquist of Casa Grande, Arizona and Ron L. Hedquist and wife Frances of Las Vegas, New Mexico; 11 grandchildren; special friend and caregiver, Irene Esquibel of Las Vegas, New Mexico; several foster children she raised, and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at the Rogers Chapel and burial followed at the Masonic Cemetery.
