Larry was born in Askov, MN on the Christensen Farm, south of town, where he lived until he graduated from Askov High School in 1961.
Larry enlisted in the United States Navy and was on the Destroyer USS Samuel M Moore DD747 from 1961 to 1965. After his service in the Navy,
Larry bought a farm one mile north of his home in Askov, MN where he resided until 1987. He moved to Mora, MN where he bought a horse farm residing there until 2004 when he moved to
New Richmond, WI. After marrying Patricia Rabe Dahlgren he remained in New Richmond until 2016. He returned to Askov to live at the Ferndale Apartments until he passed away.
Larry worked most of his life as an owner/operator truck driver and was a member of OOIDA (Owner Operator Independent Driver of America). He also was a member of the VFW. Larry had many interests and hobbies which included horses, semi-trucks (Kenworths) trail rides, and John Wayne and James Stewart movies.
A memorial service will be held for Larry at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 1, 2019 at Memorial Drive Bible Fellowship, Askov, MN. Visitation 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 31, 2019 at Methven Funeral Home, Sandstone, MN. Burial at Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery, Askov, with military honors by the Askov Honor Guard following the memorial service.
