Mrs. Allie Mae “Big Mama” Harris, 91, was born August 1, 1927 in Wilcox County, AL. She later moved to Moss Point, MS, where she was a seafood processor for many years before retirement. Additionally, she was a longtime, faithful member of First Missionary Baptist Church of Moss Point, MS. She was an active member of the Mother’s Board and Sunday School until her health declined. Mrs. Harris departed this life on August 30, 2018.

Mrs. Allie Mae Harris was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Robert L. Harris, Sr.; son, Michael J. Barnes, Sr.; parents, Sam Hale and Mary E. Taylor; siblings, Ruby Neal Baker, Mattie Bell Hunter, Linda Dorsey, Liddie S. Wright, Lillie Murphy, Fronnie Hale, Arthur Hale, Willie Hale, Houston Hale, Bruston Hale, O. C. Hale, and Ellis Hale.

She leaves to cherish her memories: five children, Roland (Linda Peoples) Barnes, Mary (Thomas) Stallworth, Robert (Beverly) Harris, and Robbin D. Harris, all of Moss Point, MS, and Yolanda Harris of Montgomery, AL; three sisters, Virginia McCullough Green of Moss Point, MS, Jessie Reeves and Nettie Lee, both of Pensacola, FL; daughter-in-law, Tredia A. Barnes; seventeen grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 8, 2018 at First Missionary Baptist Church, 4600 Main Street, Moss Point, MS. Viewing will be one hour prior to the services.

Interment will follow the services in First Baptist Cemetery, Frank Grffin Road, Moss Point, MS.
