Rev. Norman A. Bowen, 86, of Norwalk, died Tuesday, May 22, 2007 in Fisher-Titus Medical Center. He was born June 5, 1920 in West Lodi, Ohio to the late Merle J. and Louise (Kraft) Bowen.He attended the Thompson Centralized Schhol near Bellevue and graduated in 1938 He graduated from Tiffin University, in 1945 and also atteneded Heidelberg College. He entered the Evangelical Lutheran Seminary (now the
Trinity Lutheran Seminary) graduating in 1965. His
first call being in a small North Dakota town he later
served for many years in the Emmanuel congregation at Hessville, Ohio. After retirement he served as interim pastor and associate pastors in several area churches including Monroeville, Port Clinton, Chatfield and St. Peter Lutheran Church in Norwalk. He is survived by his son, Jonathan Emerson Bowen Ph.D. of Fremont, Ohio. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 A.M. in St. Peter Lutheran Church, Rev. Fred Wiechers will officiate. Internnment will follow in Omar Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter Lutheran Church, 243 Benedict Avenue, Norwalk, Ohio 44857. Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk is in charge of arrangements.
