Ms. Henderson attended First Baptist Church in Augusta. She enjoyed crafting, gardening, and canning, and had an unconditional love for her family. Jo Ann will forever be remembered for her strong-willed and independent character.
Ms. Henderson was preceded in death by her parents; her husband William “Buddy” Henderson, Sr.; her companion of 13 years, Burnis Deason; a daughter, Katherine Smith; and a great-grandchild, Arian Henderson.
She is survived by two sons, Michael Reed and wife, Beverly, of Morton; and Richard Little of Springhill, Florida; two daughters, Thresea Reed of Wynne and Davia Taylor of Cherry Valley; a brother, Jimmy McKenzie; six sisters, Vera McGarrity, Sandra Carter, Mary Sue Parkridge, Ginger Pruitt, Jackie Pruitt, and Sharon Moore; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 28, 2019, in the Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home chapel in Wynne with Brother Greg DeWitt officiating. Interment will follow in Pumpkin Bend Cemetery. A reception for family and friends will follow the committal service at Morton Baptist Church.
Friends may visit at the funeral home from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 27, 2019.
