Artist. Born in Valencia, Spain, he was a representative of Modernism in Spanish Painting. From 1903 to 1908 he was a pupil of the painter Joaquín Sorolla, and they became close friends. During his career Tuset had several exhibitions of his paintings and sculptures in the United States, Cuba, Italy, France and Spain. He was particularly well regarded for his portraits of women. After his death a retrospective of his work was held at the Queen Sofía Spanish Institute in New York. His best known works include "Leyendo," "Celebrando el Bautizo," "Paseo de la Pechina," "Abandono," Antiguo Mercado de Valencia" and "Doloretes." A street in Valencia bears his name.
