Hans C. Graf, 77, of 706 Millersville Road, died unexpectedly Thursday evening at his residence.
He had been under the care of a physician.
Born in Geneva, Switzerland, he was a son of the late Hans H. and Flora Marta Stucki Graf.
He was a graduate of Culver Military Academy in Illinois. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in economics from Franklin & Marshall College.
Later, he earned a master's degree from Penn State University.
He was an economics professor in Staten Island for the City University of New York.
He also served in the Pacific during World War II in the U.S. Army Air Corps.
He was a life member of the Millersville Manor Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 7294. He was also a member of the American Association of Retired Persons, the Amateur Ski Instructors Association and the Short Hills Ski Club, Millburn, N.J. He was also a member of the American Federation of Teachers, New York, in conjunction with the State United Teachers and AFT Local 2334.
He was a member of the Church of the Apostles, United Church of Christ, Lancaster.
He is survived by a son, John Christian Graf, Sussex, N.J.; a daughter, Deborah M., wife of Paul Smitko, Highland Lakes, N.J.; and four grandchildren.
Also surviving are a brother, Dr. William R. Graf, Lancaster; and a sister, Elsbeth G., wife of Thomas B. Smith, Lititz.
