Dr. Cynthia (Watts) Butler, of Buffalo, New York, born on June 2, 1941 in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Wanda (Dombrowski) and Charles Watts, passed away at age 77 on January 18, 2019 in Boca Raton, Florida. Cynthia graduated from The State University of New York at Buffalo in 1962 and received her MS and Ed.D. from Florida Atlantic University, where she also founded the Medical Technology Program and taught as a professor until her retirement in 2008. Cynthia was preceded in death by her sister, Janet (Watts) Drewniak. She is survived by her daughter, Heather Butler Bush and her son-in-law Robert Levesque; grandchildren, Cameron Lee Bush and Emilie Levesque; niece, Jennifer Lynn Drewniak; and nephew, Richard Charles Drewniak. She also leaves behind her beloved dog, Sassy. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Cynthia's name be made to Hospice By the Sea (Trustbridge) or The Leukemia Lymphoma Society. Friends and family can pay their respects at the funeral service, officiated by Rev. Michael O'Flaherty, on Monday, January 21 at 10:00 a.m. at Saint John the Evangelist (Chapel), 10300 Yamato Rd, Boca Raton, Florida, 33498. A burial will follow at the Boca Raton Cemetery.
