Gary A. McCormick, 56, of 6102 Winsome Lane, Houston, Texas, died Saturday at his sister's home in Springfield, Mass. after a brief illness.
Born in Plattsburgh on August 6, 1959, he was the son of the late Paul and Ruth McCormick. He was a graduate of Beekmantown High School in 1977 and attended SUNY at Plattsburgh. Following completion of his education he relocated to Houston, Texas, where he worked for the Houstonian Hotel, Club, & Spa for many years.
Surviving are four sisters, Karen Lasher and her husband Jeff, Niverville, N.Y., Patricia McCormick and Fred Quintal, Palmyra, N.Y., Mary Lou McCormick, Northville, N.Y., Joan Tartt and her husband Mark, Springfield, Mass.; a sister-in-law, Victoria McCormick, Waynesboro, Pa.; as well as six nieces, two nephews, and several great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Posey; and a brother, Paul McCormick Jr.
No funeral services will be held in accordance with his wishes as Gary preferred a great party to a funeral. An Irish wake will be held in honor of and to celebrate his life at his sister's home in Springfield, Mass. on July 2nd.
