Laura Sue Lewis, age 89 of Tuscumbia, passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2019. Her graveside service will be Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in Oakwood Cemetery, Tuscumbia.

Sue was a member of Valdosta Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. She was team mother of the Valdosta Green Wave Cheerleaders for over 24 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle Lewis; son, Terry Lewis; grandson, Joshua David Lewis; parents, William and Willie Mae Beckwith; brothers, Bill and Harold Beckwith; and sister, Elizabeth Hovater.

She is survived by her sons, Jerry Lewis and wife Glenda, and Larry Lewis and wife, Jeana; nine grandchildren, Rachel Lewis, Meghan Unger and husband Mike, Jacob Lewis and wife Jolene, Melanie Skipworth and husband Skip, Benjamin Beckwith Lewis, Nathan Lewis and Cody Lewis; nine great-grandchildren, Hope, Sam, Bryant, Jordan, Libby, Luke, Aliya, Mya and Kaila; great-great-grandson, Elijah; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Grandsons will serve as her pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be George Thorne, William Boggus and Jerry Wilbanks.
