Isabella “Bell” Trantham, 72, died on Tuesday, November 13, 2018, at Mission Hospital-Memorial Campus. Bell was born in Haywood County on December 2, 1945, to the late Horace and Lillian Ledford Trantham. She was an avid reader who loved working in her flowers and spending time with her grandchildren.

Bell worked at Dayco for 24 years and retired from Haywood Regional Medical Center after 10 years of faithful service. She was recognized for donating her vacation and PTO earnings from the hospital to The Homestead.

In addition to her parents, Bell was preceded in death by two brothers, Billy and Kenny Trantham; and a sister, June Winchester.

Bell is survived by her husband of 56 years, Dean Trantham; son, Karl Trantham (Kandi); daughters, Allison Trantham-Hopper (Allen), Angie Trantham, and Tina Grasty (Jamie); brother, Johnnie Trantham (Sue); sisters, Patsy Best, Lorena Kirkpatrick, Polly Massie, Annie Hall (David) and Blanch Evans; grandchildren, Dana Mull, Jessica Ledbetter, Brooke Deaver, Megan Trantham, Stevie McElroy, and Brandon Trantham; and her great-granddaughter, who was the love of her life, Emily Deaver.

The family would like to recognize Bell’s work family in the Central Sterilizing Room at Haywood Regional Medical Center for their years of friendship and support.
