Patricia Ann Parham Nix went to be with her Lord on December 17, 2018, after a long battle with medical conditions. Pat was born in Hatley, Mississippi on December 5, 1937, and had just celebrated her 81st birthday. Her parents were Denton Coleman Parham and Mary Edith Archibald Parham, who had moved to Raymondville when Pat was a young child. Pat grew up in Raymondville and went to Texas College of Arts and Industries in Kingsville where she met her future husband, Leon Nix. She graduated in 1961 with an Education Degree and taught primarily in Kingsville and Ricardo. After the death of Leon in 1991 and several more years of teaching she retired and moved to Ft. Worth to be with her only child, Debra Lynne, and enjoyed many years with Debbie. Debbie was also a teacher in Ft. Worth and passed in January 2017 after her own long battle with the same conditions Pat suffered with. Pat then moved to New Braunfels and continued treatment for her conditions until her death. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Leon, Debbie, and brother, Ted Parham. She is survived by her sister, Bo Dean Kruse of Premont, Texas, nephew Dee Kruse of Alvin, Texas, niece Cass Kruse of Premont, Texas, and many other nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be conducted by Turcotte-Piper Mortuary at a later date. Please check the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary web site for details. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Kingsville Church of Christ or the American Diabetes Association.
