Funeral services for Silas Means of Le Mars were held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 19 at St. James Catholic Church, Le Mars. Rev. John Turra officiated and burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery, Remsen.
Mr. Means died Friday, April 16 at Floyd Valley Hospital, Le Mars. He was 78 years old.
He was born Oct. 23, 1894 at Marcus. He had farmed in the Le Mars vicinity since 1928. He married Mae Kelly; she died in 1928. His marriage to Loretta Sudtelgte took place Dec. 29, 1930 at Remsen.
Mr. Means was a veteran of World War I and a member of the American Legion and the Knights of Columbus.
Surviving are his widow, one daughter, Mrs. John Perion of East Brunswick, N.J. and a sister, Mrs. Virginia Prusner of Independence, Kansas.
