Hazel Evelyn Abernathy, 89 of Campbell, passed away on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Piggott Community Hospital in Piggott, Arkansas.

Hazel, daughter of Grover Benjamin and Alvah Margaret Tucker Cashion, was born on Wednesday, August 14, 1929 in Gideon, Missouri.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Campbell and was in the choir and served as Sunday School Teacher. She graduated from ASU with a Master and Specialist in Education. She began her teaching career at 17 at Hopkins School and taught over 50 years at Campbell Elementary.

On November 16, 1946 in Rector, Arkansas, she was united in marriage to Jack Abernathy. He preceded her in death on March 22, 2007.
