Tina L. Taylor - Dorchester, Texas

On Sunday, January 20, 2019, Tina L. Taylor passed away at Medical City Dallas surrounded by family and friends.

She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Bobby, daughter Kelsey, son, Joshua, mother-in-law, Betty, sister, Gwen, and nephews, Steve and Michael.

Tina was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, but lived out many years in Sherman, Texas. She graduated from Sherman High School in 1987, and was employed by Cigna for over 20 years. In her free time she loved to be with her family, cooking or having game nights. Tina had a passion for helping on the farm with all of the animals and keeping a beautiful yard of flowers.

Tina was diagnosed with leukemia in October of 2017. She received a bone marrow transplant in July of 2018. Unfortunately, she became septic in September of 2018. She fought a very hard fight against the leukemia and sepsis, but her body was not able to overcome the damage. Tina received beyond wonderful care from the great nursing staff in the NVICU at Medical City Dallas. She was a member of the Valley Church of Christ in Gunter, Texas.

There will be a celebration of life held in her honor on Friday January 25, 2019 at 2:00 PM at the Valley Church of Christ in Gunter. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking to donate to BeTheMatch.org or to the Valley Church of Christ. Be the Match became a very big part of Tina’s life after the leukemia diagnosis; they helped to find her match for the bone marrow transplant.

Arrangements are under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home in Sherman.
