Ruby Pearl Pozniak, age 87, of rural Purdy, MO, passed away on Wednesday morning, January 23, 2019 at her residence with loving family at her side.
Ruby was born on August 12, 1931, in Exeter, MO, daughter of the late Roy Eugene and Inez Cecil (Lakey) Brattin. She graduated from Wheaton High School with the class of 1948 and was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.
On May 24, 1948, in Purdy, Ruby married Earnest E. Pozniak. They were blessed with over sixty-three years together until his passing on August 6, 2011. Ruby is survived by her children including sons, Michael Pozniak and wife Linda, Stephen Pozniak and Kevin Pozniak; her daughter, Donna Bottorf and husband Richard; daughter-in-law, Kathy Pozniak; eleven grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; one brother, Tom Brattin; three sisters, Betty McMillian, Mary Anne Crocker and Michelle Gudde; one sister-in-law, Rosella Renkoski; as well as a host of extended family and friends.
Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Earnest; one son, David Pozniak; one granddaughter, Kori Pozniak; two brothers, Durward Brattin and Ronnie Brattin.
Ruby was a devoted wife, mom and grandmother. Her life was dedicated to others by being a wonderful caregiver.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Pulaskifield with Father Paul Pudhota officiating. Interment will follow at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home. Memorial contributions have been requested to the Sts. Peter and Paul Funeral Circles in care of the funeral home. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett, MO.
