Helen Ann Harvey was born August 14, 1934 in Creston, Iowa to Edward Thomas Harvey Sr. and Loretta Mary Howe Harvey. She was raised in Creston, Iowa with her older brother, Edward Thomas Harvey, Jr.

Helen was educated at St. Malachy School in Creston and graduated from Creston High School in 1952. She graduated from Creighton University with a B.S. degree in Elementary Education. She furthered her education with post graduate studies at the University of Nebraska at Omaha and at Drake University.

Helen was an elementary school teacher in Omaha from 1954 to 1993 teaching at St. Patrick’s School, St. Cecilia’s School, Long School, and Conestoga School. She also served as a demonstration teacher and cooperating teacher for many student teachers. She taught hundreds of students in Omaha and was fondly remembered by many of them with cards and telephone calls over the years.
Helen was a member of St. Cecilia Cathedral in Omaha.

Helen is survived by her brother, Edward (Donna); her nieces, Ann, Sheila (Greg) and Loretta (Aaron); great-nieces, Cara and Briana; great-nephew, Stuart; great-great-niece, Myla; great-great-nephew, Oliver; Special long-time friend and fellow teacher, Mary Beth; and many friends, cousins, and students.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, her sister-in-law, Sarah Joan "Sadie" Harvey, many cousins, aunts and uncles.
