Hovey Jesse Abbott past away on January 3, 2019. He was born November 7, 1942 to Hovey and Murney Abbott. He went to school in Burlington, Colorado. At the age of 18 he started to work at the newspaper. He worked there until 1964 when he joined the military. He separated from the military in 1966 and went back to the newspaper to work.
In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and participating as an active member of VFW Post #6491 in Burlington.

He is preceded in death by his father and mother: Hovey & Murney Aboot, Brothers: Josia Abbott, and Chester Abbott; Sisters: Sarah Abbott, Evelyn (Abbott) Schaal and Murney Abbott; Sister-in-law, Sandra Lincoln: Brother-in-law, Elmer Schaal, and nephew Mike Abbott, andDoughAbbott. He will be missed by all.
