Patty "Pat" (Herbert) Smith at age 63, formerly of New Orleans, resided in Baton Rouge for the last 17 years, passed away in the early morning hours on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Our Lady Of The Lake Hospital Baton Rouge, La. She was a beloved wife, loving but stern mother, loyal sister and dependable friend to many. In her early years her loving spirit allowed her to be the life of any social gathering which she enjoyed immeasurably. This, she embodied and became the preferred (willing) host to family, friends and even strangers who eventually became family. This was truly her passion! She is preceded in death by both her parents Aamon Hebert and Elenora (Motley)Hebert Thibodeaux, her devoted husband and only love Laurence A Smith, 2 brothers Ronald "Ron" Motley and Larry "Moon" Herbert also a sister Janine "Penny" Herbert. She is survived by four brothers Lloyd "Poochie" Herbert, Vernon (Debra) Herbert, Aamon "Buster" Herbert and Reginald "Reg" Herbert and one sister Valarie Herbert; two sister in laws Lorraine (Robert) Ishman, Iris (Ronald) Leary;one son Juan Herbert, two daughters Latasha (Lloyd) Buchanan and Lauren (Mike) Key; fourteen grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren a host of cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday January 25, 2019 at Rhodes Funeral Home 3933 Washington Avenue New Orleans La 70125. There will be a one hour Visitation set to begin at 9:00 am Home going Service to follow immediately after. Burial to take place at Mount Olivet Cemetery 4000 Norman Mayer Avenue New Orleans, La 70122
