Margaret (Maggie) Elizabeth Clement was born October 21, 1930 in Crookston, MN to Clifford and Lena Lefaivre. Our Lord welcomed this faithful servant into His loving arms on January 18, 2019 at Good Samaritan Health Center. She passed peacefully with family by her bedside.

Maggie was the oldest of six children. She attended Parochial school in Crookston, MN. She married her husband, Leo Andrew Clement, on June 2, 1947. She lived in Crookston until 1967 when her Dad moved the family to Naches, WA. The Pacific Northwest was always a joy to her in discovering the incredible beauty it offered. Mom was a homemaker her entire married life, raising five children in a loving environment.

Mom was in awe of this area and enjoyed organizing camping outings, visiting mountains, mushroom hunting, and quality family time. Cooking, baking, entertaining friends, and family with the inevitable care or board game brought her much happiness.

When the children were grown and independent, she and Dad turned their passion to church activities. They attended Mass as often as they could even during the week. You could find them in Indian John Rest Area serving refreshments and collecting donations for the Knights of Columbus. They were regular volunteer at the St. Vincent de Paul food bank and recruited children and grandchildren to assist at times. Mom was an active member of the Young Ladies Institute (YLI) at St. Paul’s Cathedral and helped raise money for Seminarians.

Dad went to be with the Lord on October 12, 2000 after 53 years of marriage. She eased her loneliness by counting volunteering for the church and spending time with children and grandchildren.

Maggie and Leo had five children. She is survived by children Jim Clement, Diane Sullivan, Dan (Margo) Clement, Mary (Dan) Beddeson, and Mike Clement; grandchildren Christine, Shawn, Todd, Angela, Sunshine, Teah, Lindsey, Bailey, Mariah, Caitlin, and Austin, 26 great grandchildren, and 21 great-great grandchildren, sister Gloria, brother David and her most precious toy poodle, KayCee.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo, sister Genevieve, Delores, Madeline and her parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, January 28, 2019 at 10:00 am at St. Paul Cathedral located at 15 S. 12th Avenue, Yakima, WA 98902 with a committal to follow at Calvary Cemetery in Yakima. To share a memory of Margaret please visit www.lepfuneralhome.com.
