She was born March 18, 1930, in McLean County, to Merle and Iris Fitchhorn Walden.
She married Russell Bozarth, Jr. on Sept. 2, 1951 and he preceded her in death on May 8, 2000. Her parents and one sister, Ramona Kellems, also preceded her in death.
Surviving are her two siblings, Kenneth (Susan) Walden and Margy (Alfred) Bateman and one brother-in-law, Nelson Kellems. Zella was a very special aunt to many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews and great-great-nieces and -nephews.
Zella worked as an executive secretary for McDonnell-Douglas for over 19 years before retiring. She was a member of the McLean American Legion Post 573 Women's Auxiliary. Zella was an avid reader, enjoyed her travels and playing cards was a passion she shared with her family and bridge clubs. You could often find Zella and her loved ones around the dining room table playing cards and games.
Cremation will be accorded. Her funeral will be 11 a.m., Saturday, at Funks Grove Church. Friends are welcome to join the family for lunch and fellowship at noon at McLean Christian Church.
Memorials may be made to the Funks Grove/Mount Hope Township Library or Rucker Chapel, in care of Selena Douglass, 2082 County Road 1850 N., St. Joseph, IL 61873.
