Veronica "Roni" Pearl Hunt, 33 of Blair, Oklahoma, passed away Sunday, January 20, 2019 at her residence in Blair. Roni was born on March 20, 1985 at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Anchorage, Alaska to her father, Christopher Scott Thurmond and her mother, Wanda Faye (Jones) Hamrick.

Roni was raised in the military and the family lived at several duty stations. The family landed at Altus Air Force Base and lived in Eldorado where Roni went to high school and she was baptized at the age of sixteen at the Corinth Baptist Church. Being a military family many of Roni’s family members served including her grandfather, her father and mother, her uncle and her sister. Following in their footsteps Roni enlisted into the United States Army and served her country during Operation Iraqi Freedom with the 10th Mountain Division of Fort Drum, New York and served a deployment in Iraq from 2005 to 2006 conducting combat logistic convoys and she received an honorable discharge in 2007.

After her service she married Ryan Hunt and took care of their family while Ryan was in the active duty military. She earned an Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice from the Jefferson Community College in Watertown, New York and later Roni moved back to Southwest Oklahoma where she went to work for the Civil Service at the Altus Air Force Base with the A-Team as a Tools and Parts Attendant. On August 18, 2018, she married Mason Graves in Frederick, Oklahoma. Roni enjoyed working with the A-Team at the base and she loved her children and treasured spending as much time as she could with them.

Preceded in death by her father, Christopher Scott Thurmond; her grandmother, Harriett Jones.

Roni is survived by her husband Mason Graves of Frederick, Oklahoma; her mother, Wanda Hamrick and her husband Randy of Altus; her grandparents, Ludray and Voda Pearl Thibodeaux of Eldorado, Oklahoma; one son, Gabriel Ryan Hunt of Altus; two daughters, Kaylah Huerta; and Gwyneth Faye Hunt both of Altus; one stepson, Stoney Lee Graves of Frederick; two sisters, Sarah Lorraine Ybarra and her husband Chris of Blair; and Christy Kay Thurmond of Norman, Oklahoma; numerous aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, as well as many other family members and friends.

Funeral services will at 10:00 am on Friday, January 25, 2019 at the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel in Altus, Oklahoma with Dr. Bryan Thurmond officiating. Interment will follow at 2:00 pm, Friday, January 25, 2019 at the Fort Sill National Cemetery, 2648 NE Jake Dunn Road in Elgin, OK 73538 with Military Honors rendered by the United States Army.
